A California based Data Storage startup company WekaIO announced that Andy Watson is appointed as their new CTO. Andy Watson used to be the CTO of a cloud-based data storage company named Minio.
For those who don’t know about Andy Watson, he has been a CTO at NetApp, has been one of earlier adopters of the first purpose-built NFS file servers.
WekaIO develops scalable file storage for data-heavy applications. The company has raised $32 million in investment according to Pitchbook data. The company maintains an office in Tel Aviv.
WekaIO holds the reputation of being 7x faster than All-Flash NAS and has been deemed as the fastest parallel file system. They have also been selected by TuSimple for their AI in addition to the AIconic Award.
They are already partnered with Amazon Web Services, Google, Cisco, Intel and other major brands to deliver their services.
They have received numerous awards without the help of new CTO Andy Watson as it is. With him, the company believes in greater progress for the future.
