What Is the Keyword Golden Ratio: The Best Tool to Rank Content?

February 15, 2021

Keywords have always been at the center of SEO. However, they haven’t remained the same throughout the last two decades. Placing keywords at the right point on a web page and spacing them out is more of a science today than an art.

how to calculate the keyword golden ratio

Here enters the Keyword Golden Ratio. It’s a mathematical way of figuring out how you can get the best keywords for your posts and rank for a very specific niche. That way, you can sweep away the competition for your web pages or blog posts and get increased traffic.

What is the Keyword Golden Ratio?

The purpose of the Keyword Golden Ratio is to determine a keyword or a phrase that is highly ranked with low competition. While there are several keyword search engines out there, this is a much more effective method to rank on Google.

The golden ratio method yields great results within 48 hours. There have been instances where results can be seen in much less time. While this doesn’t always guarantee that your website or blog is ranked on the first page, it will climb the rankings. You can expect your post to be in the top 50 results on search engines.

Benefits of Keyword Golden Ratio

The obvious benefit here is that selecting highly niche, but relatively non-competitive keywords will yield increased traffic. This will obviously improve your overall search rankings and SEO. However, there is a secondary benefit that will translate into long term success, i.e. authority.

By ranking consistently for highly niche keywords, you can develop authority regarding that specific niche. Google’s search algorithms have been consistently updated throughout the past decade to target authoritative content. With the 2018 Google E-A-T update, targeting authoritative authors and websites with niche authority became a priority.

Taking advantage of the Keyword Golden Ratio to increase traffic and gain authority is a one-two punch. You can distinguish yourself and improve your traffic volume at the same time.

How to Calculate the Keyword Golden Ratio?

Now for the how.

The Keyword Golden Ratio (KGR) has a simple formula

  • Allintitle is an operator that outputs results which contain all the words in your query. For example, “allintite: how can I improve my SEO” will yield results that contain all those words.
  • Your search volume shouldn’t be over 250 results. Lower search volume terms rank faster based on the research carried out on KGR. Also, keywords with high search volumes automatically mean greater competition.
  • You can come up with keywords based on Google search results, or other keyword search engines. However, modify them using the KGR method. It may take time, but learning how to calculate the keyword golden ratio will be worth it.

A KGR of <0.25 is great. That means you’ve taken a phrase or keyword that is doesn’t have a high volume of competition, yet is highly searched. A KGR of 0.25-1.00 is slightly less favorable, but still good. A KGR >1.00 means your allintitle results number greater than the search volume.

Sticking to this strategy of KGR optimization will improve your SEO score and authority for your niche content.
