Cloud Foundry, an open source cloud industry recently announced that Huawei Cloud has become one of their Cloud Infrastructure providers at the European Cloud Foundry Summit in Basel, Switzerland. This occurred after the news that Huawei became the only certified commercial cloud provider for Cloud Foundry in Asia.
The Cloud Foundry Summit is running from 10th to 11th October 2018 and will announce other major details and revelations pertaining to the open sources cloud infrastructures around the globe. The company’s new Certified Systems Integrator Program will also be launched at the venue.
Huawei joined the Cloud Foundry Foundation in 2015. Since then, Huawei has become an active participant in the Cloud Foundry BOSH, CPI and Open Service Broker API (OSBAPI) communities.
Since then, it has contributed a lot to Cloud Foundry’s OSBAPI Communication in order to help the community ensure correctness and standardisation during testing.
Furthermore, Huawei has also integrated a One Button Deployment of Cloud Foundry on Huawei Cloud.
As the world’s leading information and communication solutions provider, Huawei adheres to open innovation, actively embraces open source and strives to contribute across the technology community.
Huawei is a major contributor to mainstream open source projects such as Cloud Foundry, Linux Kernel, OpenStack, CNCF, Docker, Spark, Hadoop, ONAP and OPNFV. Huawei is also the initiator and active promoter of open source projects such as CarbonData, ServiceComb and OpenSDS.
Huawei continues to explore its contributions to open source through open source communities, developers and industry users.
More than 1,000 cloud architects, executives, and engineers are expected to attend the Basel summit.
Attendees will learn about the industry from those currently utilising it, giving Cloud Foundry a more diverse pool while helping the users and community utilise shared resources better.
They will join other developers, end users and CIOs to gain first-hand access to Cloud Foundry roadmaps, training and tutorials, and to see how others are using Cloud Foundry to support continuous innovation and application portability.
