Since the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 launch, the videogame world has been quiet. There have been no major releases since the disaster that was Cyberpunk 2077 last year. However, 2021 promises to be different.
So, here are 6 of the biggest, most anticipated videogames of 2021.
1. Resident Evil Village
Arguably one of the most anticipated videogames of 2021, Resident Evil: Village has captured the imagination of millions. That’s also due to the fandom, but it’s mostly due to Lady Dimitrescu; ‘nuff said.
The graphics, the dread, and the gore in the game are all reasons to anticipate the latest in the franchise.
Resident Evil: Village is available for pre-order now for PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Stadia.
2. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
It doesn’t matter if you don’t like the silly tone; Ratchet and Clank is still a lot of fun to play. Its sequel promises dimension jumping and even crazier graphics. Just pick this one up in 2021 to take a load off.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a PlayStation exclusive and is available for pre-order now.
3. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is one of the most beloved games ever. The remake is just around the corner. Due to the success of the remakes for Final Fantasy 7 and Resident Evil 2, this seems like a no-brainer.
Though the game was supposed to come out in January, it was delayed to March and then to an unknown date. Whatever the case, it makes the list of big games coming out in 2021.
You can pre-order it now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
3. Far Cry 6
Far Cry 6 was delayed till an unknown date in 2021. It was previously supposed to be released in February. However, if the artwork and setting are any indications, this one will be incredible, just like its predecessors.
Plus, Giancarlo Esposito is on the cover. That should be worth the price itself.
You can pre-order Far Cry 6 for PlayStation, Xbox, Stadia, Epic Games, and Uplay. It will even launch on Amazon’s Luna platform.
5. Horizon: Forbidden West
Horizon: Zero Dawn was a breathtakingly beautiful game. It may have won Game of the Year in 2017 without Breath of the Wild. However, its sequel seems like it may be better than its predecessor. One of the most anticipated video games of 2021, Forbidden West, shows Aloy’s journey through Utah, Nevada, and California in the 30th century. This time, she’s tracking down the source of a lethal virus. This game may be the most relevant to come out in 2021.
The release date for Horizon: Forbidden West is yet to be determined, and there’s no pre-order option yet. It is a PlayStation exclusive.
6. God of War: Ragnarok
The sequel to arguably the best game of 2018 is just around the corner. According to the last game’s ending, we’ll probably see Kratos and his ‘Boy’ go up against Thor. This won’t be the lovable MCU character, though. He’ll be the Norse-mythology accurate brute.
The game will feature excellent graphics, as always, and will probably feature new weapons and mechanics. If its predecessor is any indication, this will be one of the best videogames coming out in 2021.
You can’t pre-order God of War: Ragnarok right now.
These games await gamers from all platforms in 2021. Choosing anyone will result in an experience you won’t soon forget.
